1985 Porsche 959

by Motorbox
After
having debated for over a month whether to keep one of the two 959s that I
purchased, I decided to keep the blue one. It may be a fantasy color but
it looks damn good!
Here's my take on it:
The
first thing I noticed was the packaging, which reminded me of old Bburagos. It
brings back good memories.

The elegant 5-spoke rims look great and the rear ones are properly wider than the front. Tires are not
labeled but I do like how they are not shiny. As for the brake rotors, I am assuming they must be carbon-ceramic because are black in this model. Black calipers are present as well and these remain static while the discs rotate. The biggest surprise, however, is the active suspension.
The trunk and engine cover not only open, they actually stay nice and put. Doors open with the aid of dog-leg hinges, though, there aren't any signs of sagging as the doors shut really well. The interior carpeting is similar to UTs (think fine sandpaper) but the gauges and dials look more realistic.
The engine detail is far superior than UT Porsches but the undercarriage is really bad and that is why I did not take
any pictures.
I have to say I really like this model and am glad I
decided to keep it. There are things like active suspension and
actual mesh in the rear and front air intakes that I really did
not expect to see. Despite of the painted side intakes and attachment
stubs found in the turn signals, it is a very good solid model and
I will gladly recommend it to anyone.
Thanks for reading!!
