2005 Pontiac GTO

I've been wanting to get this car for a while, and thanks to the Replicaz' big sale, I managed to get it in a cool color.

It's really heavy and probably the biggest coupe I have as it dwarves my R32 Skyline and 550 Maranello.

Parts that would normally be plastic like on AUTOart's are actual metal in this GMP model. That means the exhaust tip, the spoiler, bumpers and a lot of the undercarriage detail are metallic. I particularly like the independent suspension detail - It is quite nice!

As expected, the engine was no disappointment and the holding hood struts are a really nice touch. The shiny split-grill is pretty awesome! GMP didn't bother making the Pontiac logos photo-etched, though.

The wheel and brake detail are up to today's standards - Not much to report here.

The interior is fully carpeted and the seats fold but not as much as one would like. The dashboard detail and instrumentation are 'okay'. The doors have hidden hinges but do not open wide enough. They are also a pain to open...

What really bothered me about this model was the HUGE panel gaps - The doors, trunk, hood were horribly affected.

With that said, I would only recommend this model if you can find it for a good price because it is not worthy of the current $99 MSRP. I am pretty sure that if GMP hadn't cut corners by buying another company's mold, they would have done a better job, and the car itself would have looked less awkward. If you're in the market for one, consider a dark color!

That's all for now! Image hosted by Photobucket.com
